Made it down to West Hythe first thing this morning to see this “first for Kent”.  It showed really well for over an hour.

Garden moths

Generally it is not good for moths here - too many other light sources nearby.

But occasionally something good turns up - Lime Hawkmoth

Nothing much else - a few Heart & Dart and a smart White Ermine.

Suffolk - 16/17 May

Distant views of Red-footed Falcon and fleeting ones of Golden Oriole at Lakenheath.

No sign of Stone Curlew at Weeting Heath just an obliging Spotted Flycatcher

 A nice weekend away anyway.

Oare Marshes

An early morning visit produced no rarities but some nice common birds …

Apologies for not updating the Bhutan blog for a while. New entries coming soon.

We had a long weekend in Suffolk last weekend. A very obliging Bittern was the highlight.
